Hi Melissa, I am a medical assistant as well for a multi specialist doctors office, and I am also a nurses aide. I find that the nurses aide is more hands on, like working in a hospital with patients directly, and in the office its more hands off. Just visits whenever.. But anyways, I also want to look into nursing.. I didn my research. First you have to chose th school you want to do nursing at. Then get your pre requisite courses, like human biology and chemistry and etc.. Then once you have those pre requisite courses you can do the nursing.. I am gonna do a 2 year associates degree in science. That will make me a registered nurse.. But I will need to take the test first. But you get what I mean.. You can do 2 or 3 or 4 years for the RN program.. I am deciding if I can go full time, or part time.. I am not that into school so I think I will go part time, so I can REALLY concentrate on each class and do well.. It will take me a little longer but its ok.. So to anwer your questions. Find the school, get your pre classes, and then sign up for nursing..

Good luck. Your best bet is to go to the local nursing school and talk to someone in admissions. They'll get you started. Might be some tests for you to take to see where you are in English and math skills. Then there's the pre-req courses to take.

Best wishes in achieving all you desire. :)

i don't know what educational background you have but don't be afraid to make that first step...everyone has been where you are now
