I want to go for LPN, but I don't know which school to go to. New York City

Published

I have been researching for LPN schools allover NYC. So far, I can't take classes from the Brooklyn Adult Learning Center (same as Manhattan) because they only offer it once a year, and also offer the pre-entrance exam once a year. I really don't want to wait till the end of this year to take a pre-entrance exam, and wait another whole year to attend the classes. Does that make any sense? I missed the pre-entrance exam by a month because I didn't do my research early enough and I was busy with CNA classes!

I called up a few private schools but of course the tuition is so high, unless I register for a federal grant. I'm leaning towards Hunter Business School, but I'm gonna need to find a way to travel all the way to Hempsted, L.I. Also, I'll be continuing my education at a CUNY Senior college, but I'm willing to sacrifice my time and energy to attend an LPN school on the side(I'm crazy, but very determined).

Has anyone attended Hunter Business School for LPN (PN)? Were you covered by federal grant? Is it worth the trip? If not, can someone recommend me an LPN school in NYC that will offer me a grant?

Do you work as a CNA right now? Does your work offer any type of tuition assistance?

I just got certified as a CNA, but will be working as a PCT(PCA) because I'm a certified Clinical Medical Assistant. I'm still waiting for a response for a hospital job, but nothing yet. I don't know if they offer tuition assistance or not, I'll look into it.
