Hello all!
I'm Lala, and I'm a 24-year-old paralegal seriously considering going to Nursing School.
Before going to college, I had two major career options: law school or nursing school. I chose to pursue a degree in legal studies, and I am currently working as a paralegal, and have been for some time now.
I'm not happy working in the legal profession anymore, and have decided I no longer have any desire to go to law school. Don't get me wrong, I do think it is a great and respectable field, but it is not for me.
Part of me wishes I had gone to nursing school from the beginning (although I don't regret the decisions I have made). Something about going into nursing just feels right to me, as cliché as that may sound.
I have spent a lot of time researching the nursing profession, I have contacted my local community college to get information about their nursing program, and I have been brushing up on my math and sciences through apps and free online courses. I feel like I can really do this, but I would like the opinion of others and their experiences with nursing school and the profession itself.
Am I being ridiculous in changing my career? I have spent a lot of time on this website, and I have read the good, the bad, and the ugly from others. I often see nurses talking about how much they hate being a nurse and how they want to leave the field. This is exactly how I am feeling about my current field, and I am seriously considering making this change.
So from your own experiences, what is nursing like? Do you enjoy it? It is worth it? Take me through a typical workday! All advice, tips, and opinions are welcome! Thanks in advance! :)

Spend a 12-hour shift shadowing a nurse. If they don't sit, you don't sit. If they don't eat, you don't eat. If they don't pee, you don't pee.
THEN decide if this is the path you want to go down.

There is no typical workday.
Today I spent the day triaging patients. Yesterday I was in the trauma assignment. The day before I was floating. The day before that I was orienting in PICU. The day before that I was orienting in NICU. Tomorrow? I won't know 'til I get there.
