When always asked I am in the medical field and am working on my Licensure exam, people assume that I am in Medicine instead of nursing. How can I overcome this by telling them that I am a male nurse. I believe people think that nurses are still females.

I know this was already said, but I was a little offended when you said that Doctors don't care for people. I know doctors and they are very caring! In fact, I hope to make it into med school one day. Granted, I think that many physicians should become nurses before they get their MD or DO, because it's great to have both sides of the story.
Anyway...this is what I do. When people ask me what I'm going to school for or what I'm going to do, I say, "I am in nursing school, or I am going to be a nurse."
I don't even bother saying "male" because they can see that for themselves. Female nurses don't have to say, "I'm going to be a female nurse," so why should we have to distinguish as male?
BE PROUD! You're going to make a difference in someone's life! Many lives!
