I had the most typical new-student dream last night...

If I read this posted by someone else I'd ask myself why they would make up and publicize something so obviously contrived... but it happened, so I'm doing exactly that...

I start my (L)PN program on Tuesday. It is like a high school in that we sit in one classroom Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 2:30 (!). I'm not as worried about the scholastic aspect (although there is that) as I am about the fact that I will be missing my snack times, interweb breaks, and just the freedom to get up and do stuff! Not to mention that I am the maintenance manager of my rapidly disintegrating cars, home, and everything in it, and there's a lot on my to-do list before classes start! Point is, I've been really stressing. I mean, by the time I cut the grass each Saturday there'll be no time anything - even for AN.com! How will I (and all my fans here) survive?!

Anyway...

I hit the snooze this AM and fifteen minutes later awoke with my heart racing. In my mind I had been in a strange, tile-walled circular institution (round, like my high school, hmmm) and I was LATE FOR CLASS and could not find the right room! I realized I had arrived early enough to drop off books and find my desk, but now here I was panicking, going around and around this Orwellian roundhouse of a school-asylum, embarrassing myself by peeking into all the wrong rooms! Oh, did I mention that by arriving early I had evidently had enough time to remove all my clothes except my boxers! And I had some stylish blue silk ones on, too! I promise, this is soooo hokey and mundane, why would i make it up! My brain is on vacation!

Well, the snooze alarm interrupted before I could find the room where Jennifer Aniston would've been waiting to help me, ahem, get dressed again, so the story doesn't really have a happy ending.

But you can bet when I go to the first day of class I'll be wearing my blue silk boxers. Just in case.

My version of that dream (which I have had MANY times over the years) is that it is the last day of class and time for the final exam -- but I have been skipping class since DAY 1 and am totally unprepared! ... and they moved the classroom to another building and I am not sure where that is ...

My dream that I was late for class and at work do I had to go get my car (apparently our local pizza shop that I do NOT work at has underground parking in my dream. But the only way to get there was through a very small door under a counter in the kitchen (think narnia) and I poked my head in and there was a ghost in this bedroom that was haunting the place and I was the only one shed talk to. She took me to see her ghost friends in the attic and while I was trying to help them cross over the 2 year old I babysit appeared and started breaking things. So I did the only sane thing... Pulled our my Harry Potter-esque wand and started fixing things while speaking in Latin (which I've never studied). I never did make it to class...

Ps Jennifer Aniston was in another dream of mine but it wasn't THAT kind of dream lol. We were riding a kids train trolley through a place like its a small world at Disney and it crashed and people got minor injuries. Jennifer insisted that because I was prenursing that I could help everyone. I just started splinting people's broken legs and woke up.

Haha I just saw on Google their logo is the anniversary of the "I HAD A DREAM" speech. Life is so strange.

The night before my first day of nursing school I woke up three times thinking I slept through my alarm. And I had crazy dreams. In one dream I woke up around 6 p.m. (I looked at a clock in my dream.), meaning I missed every class that day. In another dream I was driving and driving but never made it to school.

My brain is so annoying sometimes. I can't imagine if my dreams were as detailed as the ones on Inception.

I swear right before this semester started, I had so many dreams of me waking up late for classes on my first day or realizing I completely missed 2 classes....or I'd try to leave the house but my car would be gone or I'd be trying to get to car to go to my next class & my car would be gone lol. It's crazy. Inception was such a good movie. Sometimes I'd be in a dream within another dream which is weird when if happens. The mind is an amazing thing!

My usual dream is that it is around midterm and I realize that there is a class that I haven't been to all semester because I forgot all about it.

Thanks aTOMic for making me giggle this AM. I can relate!! I can tell when the stress is building up for me when I have that same dream. In my dream it is always the end of the semester and we are having finals, when I suddenly realize I have not attended the math class all semester. I don't even remember where the classroom is, so I am wandering in the halls (often of my old high school, but sometimes in a very strange shopping center like place). And yeah, I am half-dressed. The other stress dream is that I am at work, it is mid-day or the end of the day and I have not administered any of the medications, and again, half-dressed, hoping no one will notice. Doesn't make for a very restful night ... but really really relieved when I wake up!!
