I called the admissions counselor for the nursing school I applied to just to check up and see when they notify people of their acceptance. She said that over 300 people applied this semester and they are only going to accept 80. The average class GPA for the people who were accepted last year was a 3.7. I have a 3.4. The average ACT was a 25. I have a 23. Well...I tried.

But they haven't notified yet, correct? Don't give up hope. An average is just an average; it doesn't factor in outliers. (Learned that from statistics class.) And if you don't get in you will apply somewhere else. If I talked to the counselor again I would ask what were the lowest scores accepted.

You may or may not make it. I hope that you do. But, if not, just work on retaking some classes, getting that GPA up and reapplying. Or, apply to a different school.

Can you apply at other schools, while you are waiting?
Can you maybe re-take say... An english class or...? To bring up your gpa?
Or better yet, take a course while waiting and this could bring up your gpa? Hope you get in!
Maybe this year, the overall gpa went down? Who knows? Keep us posted.
If it makes you feels a little better... Our CC had hundreds of apps and takes only 45
students once a year. Yikes! I try not to think about it! HA!
Stay positive.

Don't give up! Never give up on your dreams. You'll never forgive yourself for it. You only get one life. Don't let anyone or anything get in the way of what will make you happy in this life. I read this a few months ago and while I don't remember it verbatim, the message still applies: no matter how long it takes to reach your dream, go after it, because the time will pass either way.You CAN do this!! But only if you have a positive outlook on it. Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Forget that that's a cliché and apply it. Nothing and no one is going to make you happy until you make yourself happy first. That means listening to your heart.
