Hi there..
I am a nurse here in the philippines. i applied for nclex-california last march 2007. last week, i got a mail from CA BON. i thought it was eligibility form but unfortunately, it was a letter stating that there was a problem with my transcript of records and RLE grades. so it simply means, i am not yet eligible to take nclex and i need to resend those mentioned papers for review again. what bothers me so much is that, i still don't know when i can be eligible to take nclex. what is the maximum amount of time for the CA BON to review again my papers from the time they receive my papers? If there aren't problems with my papers, how long will i wait until i become eligible? i've been waiting for four months already and definitely in vain. I hope I won't be waiting for months again coz it's really agonizing..I even stopped working to give way for NCLEX and now i am not yet eligible. Please can someone at least give me hope and enlightenment?

Hi! I know you're really bothered, but there's really nothing you can do but resend the papers that they are asking as soon as possible so that it can be reviewed soon.
I also suggest that you communicate with CA BON and ask them what how long will the review take... you can also inquire which part of your transcript has an error so it can be corrected.
Don't worry so much, that won't be of much help...
Good DAy!

Average wait time in the first place is about four months before you can test in the first place.
You did not apply for the NCLEX exam, you applied for licensure as an RN in the state of CA. You must meet all of their requirements before they will let you test, that is the final step of the process, and not the only one.
And be aware that not all programs even meet the requirements of CA, it is not automatic that you will get approval to sit for the exam.
The wait will not be as long, but you need to resubmit what they need, and be aware that you may not get approval.
And then expect a considerable wait until you are in the US and ready to begin work. There are more applicants that wish to work in the US than there are even visas for years to come.
