I took the bait on FB for the ER group

I'm annoyed at myself for doing so, but I saw a post on the FB "All ER Nurses" post wherein a new graduate posted for solicitation of likes to a Vaccinations 101 page. Her statement "I promise I'll do super sexy compressions" or something like that.

Not sorry, but that is offensive to those of us who take our roles seriously.

If you are on here, that was highly inappropriate and I told you as much on the page.

I have learned silence is golden. Don't comment back it's not worth it.

okay....so what does posting this here accomplish? People online are stupid and say stupid things...this includes all professions. As far as thinking about notifying her employer...

A friend of mine who worked at a school district and coached there as well made a dumb comment on another friend's political post. Somebody screenshotted it and sent it to his school. He lost his job and coaching position. Totally ruined his life because somebody felt it unprofessional enough to send it to an employer.

So yes, moral of the story you should always be professional online and not say anything that could jeopardize your career. Do you think this young women deserves life altering consequences because of what she said. Just some food for thought

I never get tired of reading these "lets bash the new grad for saying something silly" posts. She'll learn soon enough. Unprofessional ? Eh. Tacky ? Absolutely. I leave my professional life at my professional place of work. Meaning i dont go looking for a bar fight when a drunk calls me a glorified butt wiper, and i surely give no reaction to some facebook post about what people *think* we do. Doesnt mean i dont take what i do seriously. I make plenty posts downplaying how hard and stressful my work tends to be. Let em be candid should they so please

It actually made me laugh a bit. I dont condone the comment but it was amusing. im more interested in seeing how sexy she thinks shes going to look and feel after actually doing (proper) compressions for just 10 minutes, because personally i just wanna crawl into a hole and get sprayed with a hose at the end of a code.
