...Residents had to spend maybe two 12h shifts with an RN on a medical or tele floor (sort of like a nurse who is on orientation) to get a glimpse of what an actual day in the life of a nurse is like, because I am pretty sure most, if not all, docs have no actual idea what we do all day. Does anyone agree?

In my teaching hospital, they're pretty clear about what nurses do all day ... because they're there all day too. I so appreciate the camraderie this fosters.
Ah! I haven't worked in a teaching hospital, so I haven't had the pleasure. The few residents I have actually met have been really nice. I hope it isn't something they'll outgrow.
