I think I might be offered the job?

Nurses Job Hunt

Hello! Thank you in advance or any opinions/advice!

I am a new BSN graduate. I recently took the NCLEX, and started to apply to jobs immediately after finding out I passed. Last week I had three interviews (Monday, Thursday, and Friday) for three different hospitals. My interview on Monday was for my dream job and I was invited to shadow on Tuesday, which I did. After the interview I was told they are very excited and have no reservations about hiring me. The hiring manager for the floor told me the same thing on Tuesday after shadowing.

HR called Friday (I missed the call), and called back yesterday asking for my references and I was told the date I will be starting orientation if everything works out. I am assuming this is a good sign. I am trying not to get overly excited because I have not been formally offered the position yet, but what do you think my chances are of getting an offer? And if they offer me the position, how long do you think it would take for them to make me an offer?

This waiting is making me so anxious.

Congratulations!

Usually they do references last. Sounds like you are on your way.

Thank you, I hope it all works out! :)

When I had my initial interview I signed a paper so they could do a background check, but they said they don't initially run them. Do you think they have ran that now? Or would they wait to get references back?

Congratulations!!!!

It is so refreshing to hear that recent grads are finding jobs a lot more easier now. Three interviews immediately afterwards. That is so awesome. When I graduated, the economy was in hell and so many of us struggled to find work.....especially at a hospital.

Good luck to you. :)

I'm thinking location has a lot to do with it! I'm in NYC and this is definitely not the norm.

But yes, congrats dalmatianmancer! I'm gonna say you definitely got the job! Unless something goes wrong with your references or background check, I think you're good to go! Congrats!!

Thank you! I really hope I get this job as it's my dream job. I am so anxious waiting though! I am praying for an offer today, else I will have to wait until Monday at the earliest to hear from them. I know for sure nothing will come back on the background check that's bad, and I would be absolutely shocked if one of my references were bad. Thank you for the positive thoughts!
