I've done it this time. I stayed after school today to practice making beds for my test on it tomorrow...

It may or may not be relevant to this but as I was making dinner a couple of hours later all of a sudden it felt like I'd been electrocuted in my lower back. The pain shocked me so much b/c of the intensity I screamed. Pain doesn't usually elicit much of a response from me , but it was out of the blue and man did it hurt.

I practiced body mechanics! I raised the bed! what in the WORLD?!?

I am now walking all kinds of funny and can't sit up straight or lay down.

eep! I've never had a back problem in my life.

Pray it goes away! I'm so frustrated!:banghead:

I wish you good luck and I hope you feel better sweetie i realized this nursing school thing isn't a game at all>I just came home from the ER a couple of days ago Had a panic attack the doctors say I am taking on too much I'm like well i have to do it (work, school and my 4 year old daughter)but we all have to take it easy relax and pace ourselves or else we won't make it through>Please just take a deep breath and plan don't cram we will all see our programs through if we do it the right way! Good luck sweetie:up:

ohdaughterofzion,

please let us know how your feeling. I am praying for you!:nuke:

If you strained your back somehow at school, it's possible that some small movement while cooking caused a muscle spasm. When I worked as a cashier I frequently had to lift 40-50 lbs, but it was never THAT lift that caused pain. It was reaching for the toilet paper, or picking up my cat, or hanging up a towel, or rolling down the car window that made me scream. I hope you're feeling better soon.
