I rather take Anatomy, Algebra, and Micro then Chem

Hi, anyone take Chem? I find it to be like pulling my hair and teeth out. It's structured but not. You have to do everything on your own and follow formats. I am trying to get a head start but not sure if doing the data report sheets write; eagerly waiting class Wednesday to find out if it is the right way. Then the math is challenging. The labs are overwhelming intense. So many different rules Pacific & Atlanta rule. Numbers can't be exact but have to guess rhe right way. Memorizing of the periodic table though is not bad.

Student success in Chem - like most sciences & Stats - is highly dependent on the quality of the instructor. A talented teacher makes all the difference. I was hugely lucky in my first Chem class at a CC ... the instructor was a 'retiree' who had spent his career working on various military/governmental projects.... including the Manhattan project! He loved to teach and took a personal interest ensuring that we actually understood the material.

I'm not saying that lack of chemistry knowledge will doom your nursing education, but I can definitely tell you that it is essential to understanding complex physiological concepts, especially those that occur at the cellular level. It would also be very difficult to understand ABGs without chemistry.

The professor showed us 2 ways to do dosage calculations dimensional analysis and the triangle method. I have an 83. something close to an 84. 20 on my first lab, 7 on quiz 1, 6.5 on quiz 2.

I am hoping to come out with am 85 in the class.

The exam will be the breaking point if I can get an 80 or higher. Then come out with 75 or higher on the first 2 labs I feel I'll make it through the class.
