So yesterday i took the nclex rn exam at 143 i ran out of time and i don't know how it would determine my score since the questions are still coming up...did the pearson vue trick that they are saying and it did went through the CC payment which means i failed as they say...it's a sad sad sad moment for me today and i just have to wait for the official result =(

if you ran out of time. they will determine if you pass or not in the last 60 questions that you've answered.

From what I was told they look at the last 60 questions and you cannot miss one of them. That's a tough way to have to pass.

@JustinAllen wow if that's the case that would be really hard if the last 60Q i should not commit any mistake =( ....

This is how the Nclex was explained to me there is a line ________ if you start out answering the first 5-7 questions right you are above and the more consistent you are answering correct you continue above. if you answer them below you start out digging your way up and its harder to get above passing. If you are not consistent you are constantly going up and down and the computer can figure even with X amount of questions left you will never be above passing. I am wondering since you ran out of time and only answered 143 ?'s maybe you were over thinking the questions. Just keep practicing questions and make sure you know the basic content :)

Yea, i thought the same thing EKUYK..only 143 questions and already ran out of time !!!

No, OP, you're not understanding.

When you run out of time on the NCLEX, the test looks at the last 60 questions you answered to determine if you were above the passing standard. That DOES NOT mean that you have to answer the last 60 questions correctly. In order to pass the NCLEX, you have to be able to correctly answer questions at or above a minimum level of difficulty. As you answer questions correctly, you get a slightly more difficult question. If you answer incorrectly, you get a slightly easier question.

So again, if you run out of time, you don't have to answer the last 60 questions correctly. You have to correctly answer questions that have an average difficulty at or above the minimum standard.

Compare it to someone who finishes the NCLEX in 75 questions. They did not have to answer all 75 questions right in order to pass. But they had to correctly answer questions that averaged above the minimum level of difficulty.
