O M G, I am soooo happy right now! Out of 585 applications, my name came up in the first 100, which means I should get into Spring 2014 at CCSF (they pick 50 for fall; 50 for spring). Nothing's set in stone until I get the official letter, but I'm still going to celebrate!!!
Can you update me on what things I've got to do before then? I know that I gotta do my immunizations CPR Training, background check, picking classes. What else?[/quote'] Make sure you ask them for the background check instructions when you pick up your packet. We got ours in the mail. Make sure your CPR fits the requirements. You have to get 2 badges made at Leetone.
We did a uniform fitting so I'm not sure if they can offer that to you still. Wouldn't hurt to ask.
Your packet will have a list of supplies to get.
At orientation we were given our book list, a brief syllabus, and several other papers. We will have a test already during the first week.
So when you get your packet make sure you ask for all the handouts that were also given during orientation.
Hello! I just received my acceptance call from the Nursing Dept today and will be attending the Nursing Program for Spring 2014! Does anybody know anything about the accreditation issue with CCSF?
At orientation they talked about that issue and pretty much said we don't have to worry. They stressed that the chance the school would close is pretty insignificant.
I registered yesterday for the certified background. I'm still waiting for the form. I think it's either mail or email.
I went to my doctor today and I showed her the form. She said that I need to see an audiologist for the hearing test and optometrist for my vision. Did you guys need to see a specialist for those test to? I already got my eye exam 2 months ago. My only concern is the hearing test.

Yes, I also had to do that. Luckily, I was able to get those tests done within the same medical building as my physician's on the same day.
I am also waiting for my Hep B titer, which is the ONLY one I was missing. The fact that I have all 3 vaccinations for it doesn't matter apparently. The form is quite misleading because it states vaccinations "OR" titers for Hep B, when in actuality it should state "AND". I already spoke with the nursing dept at CCSF about this.
