I was picked in the lottery!!!

Published

O M G, I am soooo happy right now! Out of 585 applications, my name came up in the first 100, which means I should get into Spring 2014 at CCSF (they pick 50 for fall; 50 for spring). Nothing's set in stone until I get the official letter, but I'm still going to celebrate!!!

Do you think the uniform fitting has shoes for us to try on?

I wonder if I should order the Cherokee Harmony ones, they look fine to me.

I doubt they have shoes for you to try on at the bookstore.

I would only order shoes if you've worn them before so that you know your size with certainty -- you'll be spending a lot of time on your feet hustling around and you don't want to discover that they don't fit you while you're in clinicals.

True. I will probably try to find a store to try on the shoes before I buy. Hopefully they will have enough in stock, and won't run out of my size.

So, I am looking at Allheart.com and there is all these other accessories! Organizers, bags, pens with lights, etc. Any of this worth while?

Thanks for the tips by the way! :)

these look promising! any input? @Lauraline I was also looking at the organizers, that include scissors and penlight. I think it would be helpful to keep it all in one.

Yeah, those seem like the best choice of shoes so far. I'm tempted to just buy them online right now, haha. I'm a compulsive internet shopper. O_O

Looks like if we need those supplies, may as well keep it in organizer. Now, which color should I pick! Such a tough decision... j/k.

Is all the "breast cancer awareness" stuff just for decoration, or is there some sort of donation involved? Just wondering.

or these? they look less cloggy haha ps @laurine tried messaging you but it says its full :/

Same. I guess I reached my messaging limit.

Those shoes look pretty good too. I think either looks fine. Did you have a chance to check out that uniform store? Did they have shoes too? I'm wondering if I should go and try them on. Tbh I've never been a clog type of girl either. But I think comfort is going to be the main thing.

I did, I went to Serramonte today and they had the cherokee ones but not in white. So I was able to try them on and see size wise how it was. I would order a little small because they do run big. Yeah maybe it would be best going to try on and checking it out.

I think I am going to go with the Cherokee Peacock shoes. It comes with a jelly insole which i think will be helpful! :)

Regarding stethoscopes, my sister told me that mdf classic cardiology is comparable with Littmann.

I'm having a hard time looking for white shoes for awhile now.

Hmm.. Jelly insole sounds good.

By the way, if you plan on purchasing anything from Allheart, you can sign up for emails and get a code for free shipping. There is also a coupon code for 5% off if you type "6100".

I wouldn't spend money on all the accessories at this point. Wait until you see what you actually need. I think you'll find that very little of it will make much difference.

They told us we needed penlight and bandage scissors already, which is a good start.
