Pinkster,

Can you tell me where I can find out about the HESI for CFCC? I have to go to the info session tonight to get info and my application. I had taken the NET but not the HESI (first I've heard of it). I have all pre-req classes taken. I was told there are positions available for the August class but not sure I can take the HESI before August. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Pinkster,

What grade did you have to get for the entrance HESI for CFCC and what did you use to study? Thanks.

his suzergal,

sorry I couldn't get to your response sooner. I hope the information session gave you a lot of information.

this is long, beware lol.....

I turned in My application last week and She didn't say for sure if August was full or not, but she did want to know what she wanted to do if it was full. They continue to take applications until they are full.

I know that you have to call and make an appointment to take the HESI, there is a number on the packet, if you can't get through just go ahead and call any and all of the numbers on that packet to get a hold of some who sort of knows what they are talking about. Call as soon as possible to get an appointment because the testing dates fill up fast. and remember once you take it you have to wait 4 months to take it again. so If you take it now and heaven forbid don't do well you can re-take it around december in time for Spring admission :)

You have to get at least an 80% on the Math, Reading comprehension, Vocabulary, and Grammer. You also have to take Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, Biology and a Learning Styles and Personality Profile test. The A&P, Chem, and Bio do not require an 80% passing rate, they can help you however if you get slightly below an 80 on one of the required sections and you did well on say biology and It could help you to get in over someone else who got below an 80 and didn't get good scores elsewhere.

But that is just a rare case, because if you get below an 80% in the main areas you will automatically be put on a waiting list.

I used this study guide because I couldn't see paying 20-40 dollars on the book study guide. I found it on Allnurses from Mellymellrn2b.

Know how to multiply, divide, add, subtract, fractions and decimals. (not together though)

some conversions and many ratios in the math section. Math took me the longest.

My scores.

Grammer=96, Math=92, Reading Comp=87, Vocab=92

and if your interested i didn't do very well on the other sections.

A&P 72, Bio 80, chem 72. I tried to do some of these in between important sections just to relax.

please, please when you take the HESI, do not freak out. It is only as hard as you make it be. You have as long as you need to take it, I took it in like 2 hours. To calm you nerves try taking the Learning styles or personality profile test first. its just questions about yourself, how easy is that?! In the reading section a little box will come up when you start, that is your passage to read don't ignore it, many of my friends did and they did not get an 80 in that section only by a few questions.

Sorry it was long, taking all the advice that I have gotten plus my experience.

XD hope some of it was helpful

Thanks Pinkster. I take the HESI this Wednesday. Good luck in getting accepted.
