hello everyone,
first of all i want to say thank you so much for allnurses.com, without this website i don't think i will pass my nclex-rn with first attempt. thank you very much for those who post and shared their stories, experience, material they used for nclex. very appreciated with all my heart.
i took my nclex-rn on june 22 2010 at 10:00 am. i just find out today june 25 at 3:30 a.m. i see my name on ca state board. i think i pass.
i have total of 265 questions i spend 5hr and 58min to finish my exam. i do take break go to the restroom and drink water during the first 75 questions only. after that no more break:redbeathe
i have more than 25 sata, half of my exam is priorities and med questions, a lot of infection control, 1 calculation, 4 delegations.
i spended 2 month to prepare for this nclex-study, because i'm not a smart student. but i have passion when i care for patients.
i used kaplan review course: i practice q-bank and q-trainer, and sample questions.
the q-trainer i practice twice, and some of q-bank too. i did not read the whole book. i only read the topic that i keep get it wrong on my practice. i did not used kaplan decision tree. it's not work for me.
i used mosby cd -à i practice about 1200 questions in this cd only and read the rationales.
i used ncsbn ---ài just practice the questions and read the rationales.
i used priorities, delegation, and assignment book by la charity-à i practice q/a only and read rationales. i did not do the case study.
3 day before the exam i review my rationales notes, lab value, s/sx of specific disease notes. beside study i also work out, i run 3-5 miles per day. i also trained myself sit in front of my laptop everyday, to read my notes, practice question for at least 1-3 hr straight then take break. i study at least 8 hr/day 7day/ wk. no shopping, no go out with friend. no theater movies.
here is my favorite inspiration speech that i watch during my brain get tired after long hr of study.

one day before the nclex, i'm tried to relax, i play game. no study, no study
during driving to pearsonvue center; i told "myself that this is just another practice questions, no big deal. i can do it". it's help a lot to reduce my anxiety.
ps. i'm not smart; i'm average student in class. so if i can do it, that means you all can do it too.
thank you god help me pass..
congratulations gold22...
i surely could not say how my test turned out. this is not like any other test i have taken in my entire life. nothing seems totally easy. just very few that i could say that truly is a question of recall or calculation.
one thing i learned today, that god has the total control of my life. i did what i could do. i just could not say the test was easy at all. i don't even remember what exact number my monitor turned off. it was more than 100 but less than 130 in a time frame that still has 4 hours or so left. i took my break even before the time. whatever the result is....i trust the lord. this is just a test. i give praise and honor to the lord for all glory belongs to him only :-)
