first of all let say that i have really enjoyed this site and all the encouragement

that is given. i am in my scond trimester of the r.n. program and i am just blessed to come this far, but i have a situation that i need some advise on/ so here it goes...

wednesday was our first exam and it also was our first time doing it on computer. well, since our class is so big

they had to split us up into different locations, some of us had laptops and some of us had landlines. well the one with the landlines didn't have any problems at all during their test. i was using a laptop and i had several problems while taking the test...first of all, my computer wanted to keep updating but before that it would freeze up for a few seconds then when i hit update later it would freeze up again for about 5 seconds and this happened about 7 or 8 times and while i was testing my computer shut down on its own, luckily it saved my information so i could start where i left off unlike a couple of girls that lost all their information. by this time my anxiety level was sooo high that i couldn't think straight and felt this had alot to do with my performance. i was also nervous that i wouldn't finish on time because of all the interruptions...i missed passing by 3 pts!

so my question is: i want to talk to my instructor about it but i don't know if i should?

what would you do?

thank you for your advise!!!!!!!

You definitely need to speak to your instructor about this! From your description, I feel you have a valid reason for seeking redress. Your instructor can't do anything to help you if you don't discuss the problem with them. Don't waste any time. If any of your fellow students had this problem, then encourage them to do the same. Good luck.

Yes, speak to your instructor immediately! The students who were able to use landlines had an obvious advantage over those who had to use lap tops (which were being used as a favor to the instructor/school b/c they had not provided enough equipment for the students enrolled - that should not happen!!) Encourage all the other students who had problems with their lap tops to address this problem with the instructor, and if need be, the next person up in the chain of command. I would be furious if this happened to me.

Freudian slip? :coollook:

I would definetly go to the instructors! Sounds like the laptop group had a huge disadvantage! If enough complain, maybe they will get the message!
