I need serious advice!

Here's the deal....

I had a pain pill addiction r/t a car accident. I knew life was getting unmanageable and I voluntarily admitted myself to inpt rehab. I completed and have been clean. No convictions/no issues whatsoever with the board. I am currently licensed in KS. I originally took boards in MO, but never practiced in MO. The job I got required both KS and MO. I thought that it was a simple renewal process until I got to the q on the MO renewal that asked " have you in the last five years been to drug/alcohol rehab". I asked around and decided that being truthful was the way to go. Oh boy was it not....they sent me back a 28 page chem dep packet to do and it was brutal....the depends were obscene. Now, I am considering withdrawing my application and getting a job strictly in KS....but my worry is not that they (MO boards) know I have this issue, will they tell KS? I don't even know if they would let me revoke my application...I have not sent them anything more since the initial app....just feeling lost and wanting to do whats best. I am also going through a child custody battle w my ex over this rehab stint. Anyone know about this??? I don't even need the damn MO lic anymore but I already am up **** creek now it feels....HELP!!!

Did you send the chem dependency packet back to MO? Was your rehab ever brought to the attention of the KC board?

I have not sent it back yet. I was not brought to the KS board because unless they formally discipline me then they can't communicate it to the KS board....to my knowledge....I am not sure yet. I am just freaking out. I feel like a damn criminal yet I did nothing illegal!!!!

I know when I applied originally for a MO license, I had to disclose my DUI. I sent in my notarized statement but decided to just license in KS (where I did not have to disclose) -- the MO BON sent a letter asking for my follow up paperwork but I never addressed the issue and nothing else ever came of it. That isn't really your issue tho. I would def talk to a lawyer. I don't know whether not. Following up would cause your original MO license to have some sort of stay placed on it that would be reportable to the KS BON when you go to renew. Can an inactive license be revoked?

I think you should definitely consult a lawyer for the best advice. Each state a little different but I can't imagine them not reporting this to KS. Are you required to self report to your own board? You may want to check into that. Either a lawyer can advise you best. good luck to you! Keep us posted
