I need ideas from you guys

I am eventually considering a move to Austrailia/New Zealand. I would really like to know if they hire Licensed Practical Nurses there. They work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Could you please help me with this question? Thanks. WW

Hi, I am an enrolled nurse working in the Northern Territory. We also work under the supervision of an RN. in some states we have our own patients, but I think policy varies even from hospital to hospitla. I don't think that we are able to get work in the US. Also, we are only qualified to work as auxillary nurses in the UK. Perhaps the best way to check would be to contact the various nurses boards out here. There is no central one in Australia. Which state are you thinking of coming out to?

Melbourne or Sydney. Of course a move for me would be some time away, but I'm not ruling it out by any means. You have such a remarkable country!!

Specializes in ICU.

Sorry - I thought I had posted on this thread - must have done it on one of my intermittant glitch days.

WW if you check the "sticky" thread at the top of this forum you will find not only the central registration board for overseas immigrants but the state boards and links to the immigration authorities.
