I attended three colleges in New York and only completed the nursing program at the third school. I did my prerequisite courses at the first two and completed the nursing program at the third. While filling out the application for the VS certificate I included all three of the colleges I attended. Now, I have three transcript validation forms ‘waiting to be received’ I have contacted CGFNS several times to ask if the transcripts from my two previous colleges are necessary because my school sent the transcript and all the transferred credits from my previous schools are included but I haven’t gotten a straight answer yet. I was planning on waiting for them to receive my transcript and process it to see if they will waive the previous two colleges transcript forms but I have another issue about No Valid signature Provided on the transcript my school sent. I’m contacting CGFNS and my school to see if we can resolve it.
I just want to know if they also need transcripts from my previous colleges so I can start the process. I would really appreciate it if anyone can help me. Thank you.

Hello. I had contacted CGFNS for the same issue.
Are prerequisite courses same as finishing high school credits i.e. Math, English, Chemistry/Biology in preparation for college program?
*I submitted my highschool diploma for this.
1. If your previous education/credit/ course was used in order to complete your nursing education then YES, CGFNS needed those transcripts/CGFNS forms filled - up from each school.
*I went to 3 schools for my LPN, Bridging, & Undergraduate BSN so each school transcripts were required. Besides, each school decides on how much equivalent hours to each nursing domains/subject areas on the CGFNS form.
2. On the issue of No Valid Signature Provided. Either the personnel who signed the form is New Staff/ not the one who usually signs this form, his/her signature is not on the CGFNS database.
*I contacted CGFNS and they said they would email a form to my school. I was lucky my school contacted CGFNS as well and had it sorted out explaining there is a new "Chair of Nursing" and add that new signature on your database ?
Thanks for your response. I got a reply from CGFNS they waived the two previous colleges for me. The prerequisite courses are A&P, organic chemistry, nutrition and so on. Basically the courses required to start the nursing program. The relevant courses were transferred and everything is included in the transcript my school sent. I still have the problem of No Valid signature.

Hi hypnotizer90,
Do you know who CGFNS sent the email to at your school? CGFNS sent email and postal mail to my school but I’m not sure who got the email or the mail. My school is trying to figure out who got them and no luck yet. They also contacted CGFNS but no assistance.
I think the person who signed the CGFNS form was notified. It was vague who was the receiver of the email when I asked CGFNS because they said they would contact my school & I got an email also to contact my school, which I did.
I complained to my school re. the issue. They were very helpful. I gave them CGFNS contact info as per their request. The school's new Chair of Nursing called CGFNS herself and spoke to CGFNS customer service. She asked that her name be included on CGFNS record as the signing authority.

Hi @Augusta495, I was wondering if CGFNS waived you from the transcripts from the 2 previous colleges for you after they have received and processed your transcript from your nursing program?
If so, how long did it take for them to reflect that information on your account?
My school said they mailed out the transcript verification form on 7/26 and I am anxiously waiting to see if its accepted... CGFNS told me that it can take up to 25 business days for them to reflect that.
I also went to a nursing program in the US and they said they've never worked with CGFNS before and I'm not sure if they are including my prerequisite credits on the transcript.
Hi Anny,
I contacted CGFNS about it and finally got a response. The representative said since I didn’t complete them ( I didn’t start any program and no diploma) they would waive the transcripts from both schools. My prerequisite courses from my previous schools are included in the transcript my school sent as transferred credits. It took about a month for the status to change from ‘waiting to be received’ to ‘Received and not accepted’ because CGFNS needs verification for the signature provided. My school is still working to resolve it.
Did you take your prerequisite courses at a different college?
If you took them at the school you graduated from the courses should be included in your transcript.
CGFNS might also request for a signature verification from your school because it seems everyone gets that.
Hi Augusta495,
Thank you! Yeah I did my prerequisites at 3 different schools-- where i got my first BA from (but the BA is totally unrelated to nursing), and at a community college (where I didn't start a nursing program or received diploma), and an university extension. It's just the transfer credits don't show up on my nursing school unofficial transcript, so I'm not sure if those are actually included in the official one. But I just emailed out director who filled out that CGFNS form for me so we'll see.
Seems like my school has never worked with CGFNS before either so I'm sure my school will get a signature verification too.
This wait is such a pain! It says it's a streamlined process for US educated nurses.. doesn't really seem like it to me. Would you mind keeping me updated on your progress? I wish you the best of luck!!
Did it also take ~ a month for your BRN to send in the license verification and update that on CGFNS?
I contacted CGFNS about the streamlined process and never got a response but they would answer my other questions so I left it alone.
Ok no problem I will post updates if any. Goodluck to you too?
Well it still shows waiting to be received for the license verification. I’m not sure exactly how long it will take for it to change.
