What are some strategies that I can implement to help imporove quality of life for a patient with cancer that will no longer receive treatment other than pallaitive.
I know symptom management such as shortness of breath, pain management, side effects from chemotherapy such as nausea and vomitting, or management of side effects from radiation such as topical medications.
So, my question is besides medication... how would you improve a dying patients quality of life.
Comfort yes... but how?
Saftey yes...
But I am missing something I just know it.
I should know this but I am completely at a loss.
thanks, Lisa

"Offer self" and talk with the patient. I always think like when I am sick what I love- (extra pillows, blankets, food/drinks- anything that goes a little 'more' than you have to) Good Luck :)
I am looking in the care plan. The only thing is that I was planning on using spiritual distress in the nursing action plan I have to do in another paragraph of my paper.
