I am submitting my resume in order to obtain an R.N. position. I believe that my education and experiences caring for patients from multiple cultures match your requirements and my additional qualifications with various nursing skills will make me an asset to your nursing staff.
I have been exposed to many different forms of nursing and have experienced clinical rotations in different departments like the SICU, MICU, Med-Surg, OB/GYNs, and PEDS including 128hr in the PEDS Cardiac/Burn Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital. My resume goes into more detail of all the things I've been exposed to. I am convinced that my commitment to caring for patients and my ability to function and work well with a team would allow me to make a valuable contribution to your institution. A challenging environment such as yours will give me the opportunity to make the best use of my skills and experience as a health care professional.
I would appreciate the opportunity to interview for this position and discuss how I can fulfill your nursing needs. Please contact me via phone or e-mail to arrange a mutually convenient time and date for us to meet.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

i'd give you feedback but I also would like to have feedback on my resume too if u don't mind?
i've learned that when making resume's:
> never be redundant
> instead of stating your responsibilities, state what you've accomplished
> every nurse knows what patient care is & every nurse has been through clinicals, state what stood out when you've done your patient care, so you gotta reword your statement(s): "Executed patient care by accurate assessment, implementation and evaluation of individual outcomes
"
my 3cents :)

Hi:
Revieiwed your post. Adding my as hiring manager.
a. Cover sheet states applying for RN position. No listing for LICENSURE on resume. raises red flag by HR and tossed resume to bottom of pile.
You can list LICENSURE and CERTIFICATIONS together, or separately --to fill up space since new grad.
examples:
RN license pending, Nclex scheduled XYZ date
RN License, NY active ABC date to XYZ date (do not list actual#)
Experiences read as PROFESSIONAL work--not so. Relabel as Clinical experiences. Delete details from experiences as the SAME for all nursing students -boring reader and HR staff. Only list if you have CAPSTONE clinical in specialized area that rest of classmates not participateing in.
DO list # clinical hrs at each location if your school is above the norm,
In the good old days, my clinicals every Thur/FRi started at 7:30AM to 3Pm off floor + 1hr post conference leaving 4PM = 8hrs; other programs only were on floor 1 day/week for 6hrs then post conference.

You need to capitalize on that volunteer experience!!! Re title "Volunteer Experience
list underneath. Was this one day, one week, one semester--flaunt it as what sets YOU apart from the other new grads.
List other volunteer experiences, Student nurse association, church groups, tutoring etc.
Missing resume items --add if it pertains to you:
Languages spoken: list Fluency
Computer expertise: List proficiency with Microsoft and any other computer applications.
Did you use electronic medical record during rotations, list program name if remember.
Now, "other items" you list belong instead on cover letter which needs some work.
