I NEED HELP (RePOST I POSTED IN WRONG SECTION)

Published

Hi, I have not been in school in over 5 yrs but I did take a MA classes about 3yrs ago. I applied and received all of my aid that I think I need. Anyways, I went to a homeschool high school program and graduated. In Tx they you can enter into college or community college in Tx. So, basically what I'm asking is what should I study on before going up there to take my placement test ( I believe that what i'm taking). How hard is it to get into a Lvn program? After I complete that how hard it is to transition to a RN program. So far I've been studying biology, algebra, a&p, and a little geometry. I plan on ttaking speech classes since I use alot of improper grammar and talk very fast. Also do I take prerequisite before I even enroll into nursing classes? I'm very determined to become a nurse. I will not let anything or anyone deter. So, I want to know everything I need to know before I even go up there within in the next two weeks. Since I decided this is what I really want I've been staying up all night I put in a few 15 hr days which I decreased to 6 hrs a day every two days. I had to slow down I have kids. Anyway how much does it work? Am I tested for nursing the minute i reveal that that is what I want? Thanks IN Advance for the response.

am i tested for nursing the minute i reveal that that is what i want? no. first will come placement test to determine which classes you are eligible to take. usually the placement tests will cover math and english. sometimes there is a foreign language option also. they are often set up similar to the act as far as test format and content. they may or may not be computerized. if they are not computerized, they will probably be fill in the bubble with a number 2 pencil. sometimes there is an essay component also. if you are unfamiliar with standardized testing, you will be further ahead to study how to take the test than to study for the test. many libraries have how-to-take-the-act booklets.

yes, you take prerequisites before you take any nursing classes (with the possible exception of intro to nursing, if your school offers that). many of the prerequisites have prerequisites. for example, many college nursing classes require phsyiology as a prerequisite. many physiology classes require a chemistry class as a prerequisite; many chemistry classes require at least elementary algebra as a prerequisite, some require intermediate algebra or college algebra.

so, i want to know everything i need to know before i even go up there within in the next two weeks. i can't answer that, partly because every school is different. usually, much of what you need to know is on the school's website. except this: how hard is it to get into a lvn program? after i complete that how hard it is to transition to a rn program. but i don't know either, it varies a lot from school to school and from region to region.
