I have never cried over a B... I use to love B's! I'm in A&P II and I got a 81% on a practical (that is the lowest grade I've gotten) I have all A's on everything. I studied just as hard for this unit too. I felt great and then I found out I didn't do as well and my grade dropped to a 91%. My school is based on a point scale for entrance. an A is worth most obviously, and if I get a B I fall down the totem pole. I don't even feel good about going to my psych class today ><.. what the best encouraging thing to do when you try your and still don get results want i not even a nursing student yet>

What's an A? At my school, 91% is still an A.

Cry, get it all out, and move on. It's all you can do. Stressing about grades when you know you've prepared as best as you could have is pointless. Yes, it's stressful to know you have to achieve a higher grade on the next one, but you have to just keep going.

A&P is not for dummies! It's hard! When I was in school, our class was full. As soon as students received the syllabus, more than half the people dropped the class! You know who was left? Nursing and Pre Med students who were required to take it! You will be fine, it's one of the harder Prereqs. Just do your best, nursing school will be in your future.

Amy gave you great advice! Realize that college is NOT high school and that you'll be responsible for doing and learning a great deal more on your own. You aren't going to get all A's in college, no matter what fabulous grades you earned in high school. Not because
you're dumb, but because it's a whole new ball game.
If I sound mean and uncaring, I'm not. Really I'm not. I care very very much how students do. My husband is a professor and I have tutored students for years. His students and others. I've noticed that the students who say, "But I allllwwwwaaaayyyysssss get A's in everything!" frequently lag behind the others. The ones who say something like, "I'll get some extra help, study harder, and grudgingly accept the occasional B." usually do much better.
Go to your professors during office hours, join a study group, get a tutor, use the learning center, and most of all, don't give up because I know you can do it! We all have faith in you! Stay in touch and use the Allnurses student and prestudent sites and you'll
do just great!
Thank you all. I am hard on myself big time. I was a B, C student in high school. I didn't care, and I didn't care my first year in college. (3 years ago) and now I have found my passion and it has made me driven to be successful (like most nursing students I've come across) so a B hurts a little especially when I'm not even a nursing student yet.
