Betty, the first thing you need to do is calm down. You are very young - I know you don't believe it, but it's true - and you don't need to figure it all out today.
If you are in California, I would completely ignore the LVN option. From what I understand Cal is very stringent with what an LVN can do and opportunities are limited.
Why not enter your local CC and work on your prereqs and build a solid foundation to either an associates or bachelors in nursing?
You. Have. Time.
:)
Check out the pass rate for the NCLX for your Community College, ours has a very high pass rate. Most of the Hospitals in our area would choose the ones graduating for our Community College than the UN. I am going for my RN. You are young and have time, take it and get a good foundation that is a key. Our school did not require us to take medical terminology but it would have been such a big help. If I had to do it over I would take that class.
Best of luck
Go to one of the sticky's in this same forum that it about exploring nursing. It has some great sites listed that can anwer alot of basic questions. It also really helps to talk to an academic advisor in person. Call up a few of your local community colleges that offer nursing programs and schedule to meet with the nursing program advisor. Don't worry. It'll all become clear soon.
