I Need advice for Nursing alliance endorsment in Ohio from California.

Published

Hi, I am USA citizen, and I came to USA 15 years ago, living in Ohio about 14 years. I went to school here for Pharmacy-Tech,and I Certify Pharm-Tech from the Pharmacy Technician board Ohio since 2002, I'm working for Cleveland Clinic for almost 12 years, and I went back to my country to finish my nursing. I have California board of the registered nursing license # 834883. I want to transfer that licence from California to here in Ohio. Please guide me about that matter. You think I still need to take the English exam like TOFAL, IELTS or TES or OPI. Please help !

Go to the state BON that you wish to work in and look up requirements for endorsement or contact BON and ask them

Here's the link to Ohio State Board: Ohio Board of Nursing / Forms Page

Packet for Endorement: http://www.nursing.ohio.gov/PDFS/Forms/Endorsement%20App%20Packet2.1.12-2.pdf

There's information for foreign educated nurses there.

Thank you so much for the feed back. I did call the BON, they said I have to take the English test for endorsement. I don't understand this.

I appreciate for the feed back.

Seen this a few times where you trained overseas so had to take the English exam. Can you not write to them and see if you can get it waivered?

was that not required for the Ca lic?

No, they didn't ask for I just took the nclex RN board, that's all.

Do they understand that you are a USA citizen??

It may not matter if one is a USC or dual citizenship, the thing is that the degree is from outside the USA and if not on a list of certain countries for exemption (for it's known all-English textbooks and taught 100% in English).

Yes,I wrote a letter to them about my citizenship !
