Ok, After being at my job for 8 + years with glowing recommendations and patient suvey's - I found myself laid off - Trying to find a job is really hard - I found out that the mistakes I made over eight years ago are now on my nursing Lic. and for all employers to see - even though it states my Lic. is "clear" - I can not find a job - can some one tell me what to do. I am in Minnesota - thank you in advance for the advice.

first question: What kind of "mistakes" are we talking about here?

When you say "laid off" does that mean they don't have enough work to keep everyone employed? And that you could have your job back if business picks up? Or are you using "laid off" to mean "fired"? There is a difference and we can't be of much help to you until we understand what exactly happened.
I was Laid off as they wanted to go all SW and RN's for the position - My Mistakes:- 3 medication errors and a different place was Being Rude to some one and the third was a charting error - at a total of 2 places. I took the classes the board set forth and was informed after I completed their requirements that this would not be present on my nursing lic. The legislature changed the rules here ( Minnesota) and now it is on my Lic. . And therefore I have applied and no one is hiring me.
Are you sure the marks on your license are hurting you, or is it currently a tough job market? You probably just need to keep applying. Sometimes you need to go farther afield or start applying for jobs that wouldn't normally ring your chimes.
If you get asked about your errors on an interview, be prepared to explain clearly what happened; own responsibility and say what you learned from it. Sometimes being let go is a blessing in disguise, but it takes time to get past the disguise. I'm wishing you the best of luck. Hang in there.
Thank you TriciaJ, RN- I will keep moving along and yes I will explain what happened and what i learned both as a person and nurse to make me better in all respects.

Even if the reason you aren't being hired is directly caused by the Board information, the only course of action that you can take is to keep applying to jobs until you find an employer that hires you. That is the same course of action necessary if the reason you aren't being hired is because of the job market. There almost always is going to be another person or two that looks better on paper than you do. Then one day, you are surprised.
