I miss my patients.

I left dialysis to give hospital nursing another shot. I am enjoying my new job and learning a lot, however, I really miss my dialysis patients! You don't realize how much a part of your life they are until you move on. I mean, I spent more time with them than most of my family. 4 hours a day x 3 days a week.

Anyway, I didn't realize how much I would miss my Monday morning crowd at the door and my saturday people strolling in late for tx.

I am not sure it is nice to be missed in this situation, LOL!

That's nice...maybe you could go back for a visit.

Funny you say that. I left dialysis a few months ago and I miss the patients, too. Well, some of them anyway! You know what I REALLY miss? Knowing your patients name, and not just their room number. I feel like in the hospital it is such a quick interaction you really have no chance to get to know the patient at all. Sometimes knowing them can help you understand how to treat them better.
