Back in the olden days I picked up a few dollars a week riding along with home health nurses on a per visit basis. This was a private/public kind of agency in that it was incorporated in itself rather than the hospital. I really got tired of paying two states licenses (before compact of course) so I only did it a short while. It was an easy job though.
It usually ended up being about4 visits a week mainly to patients who needed turning for wound care, or for visits that were a long distance drive for the one nurse alone. If they'd paid ME mileage for those.... wow it would have been great.

I don't miss the nonsense of the flooor, but I miss hands-on nursing.
I want to find a couple of days a month to keep up my clinical skills but don't know where. My facility, which is perpetually short-handed, is unwilling to pay me overtime which, since I am an employee in another dept, they'd have to do.
*sigh*
