q1. fluid status is related to circulation always follow the abc's of nursing. fluid status is more important than pain.
q2. liver cirrhosis with acute confusion is a mentation issue which is most likely hepatic encephalopathy. a confused patient is more likely to fall, i.e. is a safety issue. safely is more important that pain. this is just my .
good luck.

Agree with fluid status, but in correcting his pain you can correct his fluid status (IV & fluids, anti-nausea medicine, and pain medicine). That is typically what is done. Therefore, the answer is yes. Love Medline (http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1950020-overview#aw2aab6c15). See the section on management in the ED and Medical Care: Analgesia.
On the second one, I agree 100% with bloodlikefire. Solid reasoning.
