Anyone know of any? I found a place in Dearborn that was only $575 for the training, but with traffic, I couldn't pick up my kids. I have 4 so unless I am working, daycare is out of the question.

I have been looking online for a couple days. Any help would be appreciated.

(No, I am not giving up on being a nurse, I am just tired of sitting on my hands waiting!)

hi Gemberly

I took the CNA class last summer through the Red Cross they were located in Warren 696 and Hoover. HTH.

Hi Gemberly,

I was also tired of sitting around on my hands waiting, so I also went to the red cross to take the CNA class there. I just finished with the classes and now am going into the clinical for a week. It isn't too hard of a class, it is though expensive, I think, 900.00 for a month of classes and clinicals, plus then another 176.00 to go to prometrics for the testing to get certified. I am really hoping that this will pay off...

I also have not given up on being on nurse, but with waiting for Baker and MCC tests and praying that I get into one of the programs, my friends who are RN's told me it would look good if I did go through the course and to have it on my resume that I did work as a CNA while waiting.

I'm having trouble bringing up times, dates, locations for CNA courses on the RedCross-MI Web site. Is there anything near the Rochester/Troy area?

Thanks!

That was my experience on the site as well.

What are the hours that the classes run through the red cross? The one in Dearborn is cheaper, but the classes go until 3:30 every day M-F for 3 weeks, and I don't know if I can pull that off with the kids and their school.

My husband works two jobs, so it is basically me trying to co-ordinate everything.

That is the times for all of the red cross classes. The day class goes for 3 weeks 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and the night class, (I am in this one) goes for 4 weeks, every evening from 5:00 until 9:45 p.m.

Here is the website that I looked at: www.semredcross.org.. I also ended up just calling them and asked questions.

I hope this helps. Is it a great class, well it is up to you to study and to know the skills, it goes by very fast and the class that I am in we have had 9 different instructors. I am mostly referring to the state board testing package to train myself on the skills they want us to have and to pass the state test. ( i am told that this is not a normal procedure, but somehow my class was selected to be trained this way)

It is a lot of money, I do have to say...But I am praying that it will be well worth it.

Good Luck and I wish you the best choice of where you want to go and what you decide to do.

Sorry I forgot to add the phone number: 313-833-4440
