I don't know what to do HELP ME!

Hi I came from the Philippines and finished the nursing course there, and planning to take the nclex here in California. I have sent my transcripts all of what they needed. After the long wait, they have responded to me and said that I lack the psychiatric hours (i think both theory and clinical practice) I asked them how many hours or units I have lacked and did not tell me how many hours that I lacked. They also send me some list of schools but then when I called the list of schools, I will be "wait listed" (WAITING FOR A YEAR! OR SO). Well I can't be put in a waiting list because I really need to take the test and have a job. The California Board of Nursing also told me that they have changed their standards in psych.. WHAT THE HELL. I called them the second time around and told me to contact my school and try to pull up some hours, if they can do that, I may have a chance.

My theory in psych is 40 hours and my clinical hours is 84 hours.. How can that be possible? I already graduated from the Philippines got my diploma and transcript and now they are letting me to enroll again? Pls. Help and share me your thoughts about this. I really don't know what to do. I contacted my school but they will not add my hours in psych because 40 - 84 hours is their standard..Enlighten me PLS!:crying2:

i m going through same situation i am indian rn and now in fl but the board said i am lacking in psych. theory and the lacking hour is 4????and they said u need to wait for board decision itsss too much for me????but they req 34 hours why do not u apply for fl board??

Im an International grad also but applied in Vermont because they process a lot faster than any other states and I am living in California. You dont have to live there, u just have to apply and if u pass NCLEX u can then submit an endorsement for the state u want to work. My sister did same thing, she had her application submitted in South Carolina and worked in Maryland.

about the endorsment thing do they still need my transcript? what if I pass my nclex (Hopefully) at the different state texas, vermont etc and apply to CA is that it I get a license at CA? Do they still need my transcripts etc.? Because my mom said that if I apply at texas and endorse at different state the CA boards will still question about the psych and still let me take it

If u pass NCLEX from another state then you can be eligible for an endorsement. They wont question u for anything because u already submitted those when u took your exam. All you have to do is fill up an endorsement form, pay and submit it to the desired state u want to work.

MOSAICISM105 did you get approved with those hours?? mine was 44 hours of theory and 84 hours of Clinical in psych orginally then the Calif BON sent me a letter telling me I did not meet the minimum hours suggesting I should go back to school to get more hours. I have requested a reconsideration unless the school is going to provide additional hours and now it is up to 60 hours of theory and 108 hours of clinical.. is this enough to qualify?
