U.S.A. California

Hi all..

I just recently passed my Nclex-RN. Now that im over and done with the exam, I am currently in need of a Job here in california. I prefer to work in san bernardino county because LA is pretty far from Chino, Ca. Or anywhere near the city of Chino.

I dont know where to start looking.

Where do u suggest i apply?

I dont have any work experience and I am aming for a new grad program but i guess most of them started already or applications are now close. Are there any hospitals hiring nurses without experience?

thanks in advance!

Hi there! First off, congrats on passing the NCLEX:)

My suggestion for you is apply everywhere and make sure that your resume stands out.. There are stickies in this forum to help you polish your resume and interview skills...I had trouble looking for a job around my area (bay area). I have heard that it is actually easier in the L.A. area though -- search new grad programs on www.aftercollege.com. They outline several new grad programs available in any area you wish to look.

Good luck on your job search and hope you find your dream job:)

I would start calling hospitals and their HR departments to inquire further about job availability. Or you can look up online on their websites as well. Better still, go personally to the HR department and talk to them. Good luck and congrats!!!!

HI & Congrats!

I know arrowhead regional medical center hires new grads. County job, pay is not great but benefits are good. They take a while to hire though usually.

You've got St. Bernardines near you San Bernardino Community Hospital

And isn't Pomona Valley Medical Center near you? They only hire new grads twice a year though.

Most of them when you call HR direct you to a nurse recruiter, who will give you more information.

Good luck!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Try the LTC facilities, if you're in desperate need for a job then go there. They're usually always hiring because they have such a high turn over rate...It's definately nothing like working in a hospital but if you really need a job that bad, then go there instead of wasting your time and waiting for the hospital position...By all means keep applying to all the hospitals until you finally get your foot in the door...but remember that the longer you wait and aren't working in the field you'll be considered outdated. Good Luck!

Specializes in I live for the ER..

I'm in the same area you are in. You really just need to get yourself out there. Sometimes hospitals like that you are a blank slate.

try these:

Pomona Valley Hospital

San Antonio Community Hospital

Loma Linda Hospital

Or you could always go with Orange County.. not to far from us if you use the canyon (9 miles).

Good Luck!

Hi

The right place for you is Loma Linda Medical Center.

I'm also a New grad and I've been working there since October 08.

The hospital is great, nurses are amazing and the ratio perfect 3:1.

Schedule very flexible and they pay good. I get $33 per hour night shift, Friday, Saturday, Sunday $37

I love the hospital, and the team help me a lot.

If you have questions, just ask me :-)

Hi!

I am interested in Loma Linda. After I finish my RN and premed classes at Florida Hospital College in Orlando I would like to begin working at Loma Linda as a nurse and also apply for medical school. Do you have any advice that may help me reach my dreams?
