I just got accepted to EC, they reveiwed all my transcrpits and also told me to enroll. They gave list of all the exam that I need to complete, but I don't understand what NURx*274: Focused Clinical Competencies Assessment (FCCA) is about. Does anyone know what is NURx274, Is it a course or exam that I need to take. Please help.

That is the very last nursing exam you take before becoming CPNE eligible. Right now its pencil and paper and they send it to your home and you have ten days to complete it and send it back. They may have it on computer by the time you get to take it. They have been working on it for over a year.
Congratulations! I hope EC works out for you. I am a EC grad Feb 2009 and thought the program was great!
Hi, NC girl
Congratulation and thank you. I have some questions. First, EC told me i have to take Information Literacy Requirement. Is that an online course and what is this course is about? Second, which test I can take prior to enrollment. Or should I enroll first, EC said they will do official transcript evaluation after I am enrolled. So, I am just confuse. I have applied based on 50%clinical, so do you think that I will get some credits to get exampt from some of the test. I am confuse on what to do.

Its 5 modules and a 50 question multiple choice test at the end. It talks about Looking stuff up on the internet, libraries info, copyright laws etc. Someone on here posted a cheaper version of the same course. I think it was about $100 to do it. Look through the old threads. You can take Essentials in Healthcare Saftey before you enroll and I recommend you do that first and maybe some of the prerequisites that they may recommend. Once you enroll, your time starts and you have to pay a $450 each year that it takes you to complete the program. Since you are not a LPN, you will not me exempt from any of the exams. LPNs are exempt from exam 2 "Health Differences."Once you enroll, they will update your transcript after each test. They call it offical after enrollment because you will then become an Excelsior College student and can then request copies and send it to other schools.

So, once I enroll, are they going to make me take some of the prerequistes because I have done all of the prerequisite. I was in BSN program, so I have done all the prerequistes more than they require for ASN.
No, if you have completed all the prerequisites then all you need to do is the nursing classes.
thank you so much, I looked through other thread for the cheeper informatic literacy course, and I found it. Some did it at penn state and EC accepts the course from that school. I'll just have to take permission from my advisor. So, when will i have an acedemic advisor, after I enroll or i should have one now since I am admitted. Also, Accordign to new ruld of GOBN, do think I will not be endorse my license in Georgia. I am in Georgia but I still decided it to go through EC because I will be testing in anohter state and I will work in that state for a while.
That whole GBON is a touchy situation. Right now they are going case by case. I know that if you were not a LPN, they are requiring people to have so many hours in various specialties. I would call them but it looks like you may run into endorsement problems in the future.
Hey, NC Girl
Can you tell me what book I need to buy in order for me to study for Healthcare Safety Exam. Do I take this exam at Pearson Vue. I am planning to take this before I enroll.
