I hate waiting on a job offer!

Girl I get it, I'm try to move to the other side of the state and I put in an application and havent heard anything back yet. I called and they basically said wait and see. All I can say is anxiety, haha. All things happen for a reason.

Do you mind me asking what type of questions they ask? I have an interview on friday for ICU. I dont know what type of question to expect. Were any of your questions based on the specialty?

I work ICU and questions I was asked was, Tell me a time when you have multi tasked and the outcome? How have you worked as a team? Clinical skills? Have you ever caught a med error? etc. They want to see you work well under stress and could do more than one things at once.

Some of the harder questions were.... Tell us about a time you had to change the treatment plan for a patient and the family wasn't completely on board. What did you do?

What are your expectations of a manager? (that one put me on the spot!)

Tell us about a time you had a disaggreement with a manager or doctor and what happened?

Give us an example you went above and beyond for a patient.

They did ask about a mistake I have made as a nurse and I talked my one and only med error and how I owned up to it. Not clinical questions like,"do you know the output for a chest tube" or anything. Just personality based questions and how you work with your patients.

Me too! I had one a week and a 1/2 ago that went well but who knows?? And another today, she said she would let me know by early next week. I was glad they gave me a time frame. The first did not

I had a lot of those questions too and the error question.

Don't you love the wait? Not really, but you are so nervous and anxious you read into everything. I would get emails and be like "WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO SAY" It was like secretive code talk but they forgot to give me the key.

Then the HR lady finally called and I was out of town and by time I got message it was to late to call back. I called to leave message and her voicemail said she would be out until afternoon next day (which was a friday so it was totally my luck and I was like GREAT I will have to wait until monday to know!) Finally when I talked to her she asked how my day was going and I said "I dunno, depends on what you are about to tell me!"

I feel the same way. I finished every step successfully and now I am waiting for that call and I am so impatient when it comes to job offers. I can't fall asleep at night, stare at my phone, I even take my phone to the restroom with me lool. When my phone rings I run to get and I find out that it's not the hospital, so disappointing. I have never been lucky, doors tend to close for me even when I am so close to accomplish something. I Hope you hear from them soon. I'll pray 4 u.

I never made a med error but I did have a close call from Being unfamiliar with the carpujet. I told them about that and what I learned from it. they asked about any med error or close call and made it a point to say that everyone has them.
