I graduated!

Published

I finally did it! After all the hard work, blood, sweat, tears, anger, doubt, I made it! I graduated on Thursday from my LPN program with my 19 classmates and it felt good. I'm a single mom, I haven't worked in four months after holding down a full-time job majority of the program. But God did it! Won't he do it! I'm just so happy. And my little 5 year old was right there to see Mommy meet and exceed expectations for him. This is just to encourage someone out there. I've been told by prior students I can't do both. My circumstances were different. I had one job that I worked full time from the start of the program and got laid off last June when the company closed down. I then worked PRN for a home health agency as a CNA but it wasn't paying the bills. I then left there and worked another full-time job and once that contract ended I was unable to find anything that could fit my busy schedule. However, with the help of a great Dad and such a supportive family/friend unit I made it through. So I hope this little nugget encourages someone. If I can start a program and complete it after trying to finish for over 13 years, anyone else can. Don't give up, don't give in, block your mind from the haters, and know that you know that you know you can do it. When God is in it, everything else doesn't matter.

Congrats!!!!! I don't have any children but I am working a full-time job while attending school and it is VERY tough. So, kudos to you for doing it while raising a child!!!!! Best of Luck to you:-)

Congratulations!

Thank you everyone and best of luck to everyone who is still in the program!

That is great! Congratulations. Your words are very encouraging. I start the LPN program in January! I took the HESI entrance exam today and passed it! You are absolutely right when you said God is good. I studied the HESI study guide and I was so nervous. I prayed before I took the test and I passed!!! Im really excited about starting the program. I've always wanted to be a nurse. However, I'm nervous too. My situation is similar yours.I have 2 kids and I work a full time job. I know it will not be easy but I'm going to give it my all and complete this program. Best of luck with your nursing career! And thanks for sharing your journey.

Congrats.. Thank you for sharing your story. The encouragement is so appreciated. It gives me hope to finish.
