I GOT IN!!! Lake Tech P/T LPN

Published

So, I finally have good news! I made it into the part-time LPN program at Lake Tech in Eustis! I am so grateful! I do have some questions though, they require you to provide a physical and shots- I don't have health insurance. Does anyone know roughly how much it will cost me to get it done? I've got until April 5th to get everything together! Thank you all so much! All of the advice here from Allnurses has been greatly appreciated!

congrats!! I typed up a reply earlier and it didn't show.. weird.. anyways I suggested looking into the health department and CVS and Walgreens for their Minute/Take Care clinics.

I'll probably be seeing you on your first day since our class is your senior class. So fun!

Awesome! Thanks so much! I did call the health department but I didn't think about Cvs or Walgreens! I'll give them a call in the am :)

Hello Ladies,

im looking to get into the LPN PT program any idea when the next class starts and what the times are?

i am 25 and the mother of 1 month old son and i refuse too sit and tell my son to be all that he can be when i didn't. So with that said i plan to go back to school. LPN to RN BSN is the goal eventually. my mom was a RN. 8 years ago while in college i did a few pre reqs for nursing including A&P and passed with As however thats 8 years ago, i dropped out and im scared to death of the TEAS test. ALso i see on the website something about a TABE test? any idea oh how i should prepare for it? i brought the ATI Teas study guide and have been going over it to prepare myself for enrollment. i tried calling the school and emailing but no one has gotten back to me.

Also any info on how financial Aid works? Just curious if id have to pay anything out of pocket and if i could use federal student loans

Cynt87,

Keep calling! Keep emailing! Do not give up! Eventually someone will get back to you. Go to the lpn page on the website and email Ms. Veremakis at the bottom of that page. She's pretty good about getting back in touch.

Financial aid: I'm not going to lie, it's very confusing. I used fafsa and it covers everything with the pell grant. I did have to pay a little out of pocket because part time requires you to have a certain amount of hours before they can give you a certain amount of money, but I will be reimbursed in january. there is also an in house scholarship to help with the cost

I do not know when the next p/t program starts. Again, you'll have to call/email to find that out.

the TEAS test was very difficult! especially the science portion. definitely spend alot of time with that study guide, it will really really help. TABE test is really easy, very basic, most people in my class got 12.9 (highest score) for all the categories. I'd say brush up on your algebra for that one and you should be fine :)

Thanks for getting back to me. Ms. Veremakis actually got back to me via email a few days ago. Next part time is in March with enrollment and Testing in January. So I have 5 months to study.

Should I save up some money for that out of pocket tuition? I know everyone situations is different but I don't want to go throught it all to find out I don't have any money to cover it . Just tryna be prepared.

So the study guide is good enough for the TEAS? I was thinking maybe I should take a science and math class at valencia really quick. I just don't want to fail come January! SIGH I'm going crazy. I been watching youtube reviews on math but I remember nothing from HS lol

Oh yea also for the in house scholarship do I need to do anything before hand? Sorry I have soooo many questions. And once you start ill prob have more about class itself. Anyway wish you all the best and thank for answering my questions

teas test isn't about "passing or failing" its about lying within the top percentage of grades.... for example, i believe my class had to make an average over 50 something % to get an interview.... most people got above a 60%. The science portion was really hard. I wouldn't waste your money on a class on something thats covered in a study guide.

I'm not sure about the in house scholarship because i'm not using it :(
