I also had my first RN interview today. It was for ICU. The facility was a bit of a drive so I'm surprised they even called me. I must say it was a little unusual from the regular interviews that I was used to coming from the non-nursing world. I have no idea how I did, I just answered the questions to the best of my ability. They said they also have other open positions besides ICU if they think I'm a good fit. Good luck.
Keep on applying don't stop until you get an official offer from someone. I landed another interview tomorrow with the same hospital chain...obviously I did not get in with the first one at the ICU...I guess not much new grads get in there to start anyways...How do I get through these interviews? this time its a med-surg. There could be a million questions they could ask me..med-surg is so broad.

It was was for an Ortho unit and the nurse manager said there were about 20 applicants!!
I'm a new nurse so I'm sure that there are experienced nurses in there somewhere!!
I did my preceptorship at that hospital and right after I left her office she went down to talk to him about me so I guess that is a good sign! Isn't it?
I met with an HR Recruiter then the nurse manager. I'm not sure if the nurse manger is called by the Recruiter to see a candidate only if you have a shot or that is just how they do it regardless. I know how valuable their time so that would surprise me a lot. What do you think??
I'm sending my thank you letters now.
Thanks!!!!
