I finished the NCLEX-RN 2019 yesterday. Ask me anything.

Published

Hi everyone,

I finished the NCLEX-RN yesterday with 77 questions. Here is a brief overview:

22-23 SATA

1 EKG (V-fib and I was overjoyed)

10-15 Maternity/Newborn

5 Peds

1 picture

No dosages

LOTS of priority and delegation ( very tricky)

I got the good pop-up so I'm hoping I passed. However, I will pay to access my quick results.

How did you study? What programs worked for you and how long had you been studying for?

Currently using Kaplan, but I'm considering purchasing UWorld. I also have an online tutor through ATI from my school that I am going to utilize as well.

Congrats on getting 77 questions! I'm sure you passed no doubt ?

Hello!

Congratulations on passing! I'm currently going to take the exam on Thursday so literally in 2 days. I'm trying really hard to remain calm but its hard I'm not gonna lie. I have been using Kaplan & most of my practice exam score range in the 50s. Because I have heard that you should be getting above 60 my confidence falters but I try to tell myself that numbers are not everything. I was wondering did you feel the exam was easier or harder than you expected? also what did you use & did you feel that your practice question were harder or easier or just about right for your exam. Please let me know, I'm super nervous but I'm super determined to pass on the first try but getting practice exam scores from kaplan in the 50s make it hard. Good luck being an RN super happy for you!

I graduated in May and started studying seriously in late July. I prepared a good month in advance. I primarily used Uworld. Uworld is awesome! I focused on the rationales and breaking down the question.

I used Uworld, it's awesome. If you can afford it, then get it. I purchased the package with one self assessment for $150. You get 60 days.

The NCLEX was fair. Some things I knew and some I didn't. I feel it was on par with Uworld, and I felt prepared. Uworld has the same format, question styles, and etc. I am a slow test taker. I read the question 2-3 times to make sure I comprehend the question.

It's natural to be nervous. I heard my heart beating through the isolationheadphones. Lol. However, I felt a bit more at ease knowing I prepared and prepped for the exam. Do not let your nerves get the best of you. Go over concepts you struggle with. Most importantly, never forget the big picture. For example, if my kidneys aren't working, what other body systems will it effect? What would be my s/s, nursing interventions, and treatments.

You will do fine. Good luck!

Hi please give advice how to began.

Know your weak areas and start with those first. Do about 75 questions a day. Understand the rationale. Read the rationale whether you get it right or wrong. Use simple reference materials to help review weak content areas. Saunder's review books are great for content review

Definitely practice prioritization/delegation, thats big on Nclex. Uworld is a great tool for Nclex review especially prioritization/delegation.

Prioritization/Delegation is apart of the Management of Care section on NCLEX which holds the most weight.

On Nclex those questions were VERY tricky...imo. This video should help with those type of questions.
