New protocol - No report from ER to floor...
Yeah this is my hospital too. I think this protocol is very widespread or at least becoming that way. At my hospital they only call and give report if they are extremely complicated and/or acute situations. It's definitely rough sometimes, especially when it is a complicated patient, unfortunately. They'll call to say if its OK to send and say they're sending, but the worst is when there is no communication and they just send. But as someone mentioned, the ED is different and I know sometimes they pressure nurses to send as soon as possible which isn't safe for anyone

New York License
Thanks so much. I found a website that provides both of the courses online so I'm gonna go for it and start as soon as possible. Gotta get out. Be safe!

New York License
Additionally, after you finish the courses do you have to send the certificates somewhere? Sorry for all the questions and thank you for the replies. I am eager to leave where I am working haha

New York License
Whenever I follow those links they always direct me to places I need to go in person to do it. Were yours online? Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

New York License
Hello! I am close to finishing my first year of nursing and am a licensed nurse in NJ. I wanted to start looking or a new job and because I am so close to NYC I wanted to apply for my New York Nursing License. I saw on the website that there are courses that are required but I may be exempt from them because I completed my degree and got my license all after 2014 (Class of 2019). Just wanted someone to help me verify whether this is true or not for anyone that has done the same or has recently gotten their license in New York. Please let me know and stay safe!

I finished the NCLEX-RN 2019 yesterday. Ask me anything.
Hello! Congratulations on passing! I'm currently going to take the exam on Thursday so literally in 2 days. I'm trying really hard to remain calm but its hard I'm not gonna lie. I have been using Kaplan & most of my practice exam score range in the 50s. Because I have heard that you should be getting above 60 my confidence falters but I try to tell myself that numbers are not everything. I was wondering did you feel the exam was easier or harder than you expected? also what did you use & did you feel that your practice question were harder or easier or just about right for your exam. Please let me know, I'm super nervous but I'm super determined to pass on the first try but getting practice exam scores from kaplan in the 50s make it hard. Good luck being an RN super happy for you!
