My first job offer started with a labor and delivery position, I had my 2 interviews, and I was told they wanted to hire me, after countless follow-up calls and texts, I began to get worried about if i was actually going to get hired, plus not having an income in over a month, I was beginning to sweat lol. I decided to apply for a few other jobs, and back to back everyone called me back all at once, a pediatric residency, an OR residency, Med-surg. Finally I decided to call HR about the Labor and Delivery position, and there was a mix up, they finally emailed me to submit my references, and they started my background check yesterday, and it took 1 day to come back, so today I got my green light to start my new hire paperwork, and my offer came with a nice sign-on bonus. I'm so relieved to be able to start working. Now I just need to call the other hospitals to withdrawal my applications.

Congratulations!! Now we all know there are positions open because you declined them... OK~ here we come lol
Yes the lower paying/ rural states have more job opportunities.
Lol yes right now OUt medical center is hiring for some awesome new grad residency programs, I really wish my car was more reliable to drive the distance or I lived closer, or I would so take the OR position, but at least with my labor and delivery job, I'll be able to go in the OR for c-sections ?
It's okay, L&D will be good :). Maybe in the later future you can get into OR or maybe in something else if you change your mind.Celebrate the fact that you got in!
