I feel like its taking forever....part time studies!

Hi all, I'm a part time student and have been taking classes for the past 3 years. Yep, 3 years! lol I still have 5 semesters to go and I just feel like its taking so long and that I will never finish!:cry:

I am doing very well in my classes, but some days I just feel like giving up. kwim?

I wish I could win the lottery so I could go full time and not be dealing with the time and money factor.

Anyone else a part time student?

I am in that same boat. I've been taking pre-reqs since Oct 2004 0 so for 4 years! I get embarrassed when people ask how long I've been in school and I tell them 4 years and then I still have at least 3 more years to go. I work fulltime, have 2 kids. My husband doesnt work, so it up to me to work to pay the bills. So parttime is really the only option right now. I'm hoping within a year I will be accepted into the nursing program and when that time comes my youngest will need to be put in daycare and hubby will have to get a job. I am scared to death!

I worked when I did my prereq's and I was part time at school, so it did seem like it was taking forever. I had to quit when I started Nursing classes because my CC doesn't offer nursing part time. It's going much faster now, although I am off this year. I'm going back to work in January until classes start again in the Fall and my first year flew by, so I'm sure my second will as well!

Well I have been in school for the last 5 years and now I am 4 weeks away from full filling my dream as a RN. I know it hard at time, but look at it this way, 1 class finished and closer to your dream. Hang in their I did and now I am almost finish and 1 day you will look back and be glad you hung in their. I was in same boat. when I graduate this May 09, it will mark 6 years in school to get an associates degree!! yikes!! I chipped away a class or 2 at a time. 4 children ( now ages 5 through 15). went back went 5 year old was born. I remember feeling frustrated, tired and felt that it was such a long road, such a huge sacrifice..I cried one night telling my husband that it was going to take 5 years to get my RN...he said " well, in 5 years you can be a nurse, or wish you were- either way 5 years will go by" ...those words kept me motivated and whenever I got frustrated, I though about that..its true- the time will pass by no matter what you do.. good luck!!!!
