I failed my HESI A2 twice :(

Make sure you know how many times your school lets you take the Hesi because most only allow 2 times. For vocab, I suggest you buy the pocket prep app (purple one) and look at Hesi Vocab quizlet study guides. For grammar, I just reviewed basic grammar stuff from the review book and used the pocket prep app also for more practice. For A&P, I used pocket prep app, crash course on youtube, cliff notes, and Hesi A&P study guides on quizlet. For A&P, don't dive into too deep detail. They will ask you basic questions covering every organ system. Know your endocrine hormones, where it is produced and its functions. I failed my Hesi the first time also, I bombed the A&P but on the second try I passed. You need to ask yourself how you failed and what you can do to make sure it doesn't happen again. Do not procrastinate, study a few hours every day if you can. Here are some links to the study guides that I used (A&P and vocab). I would say stay positive, take things by a step by step approach, do not dread on the past just look to the future and how you can pass this time. Goodluck!

I failed my test the first time, I studied for a month. My school required us to take: Math, reading, grammar and vocab. I did well on math (90) reading (80) vocab(86) BUT GRAMMAR (68) I was so discouraged. What I did the 2nd time was also purchased the mcgraw hill book which helped me more with grammar and reread the evolve book. I focused more on grammar the 2nd round and I passed. Keep your head up, think positive and maybe use other resources. Goodluck!

You probably need to actually study a month ahead of time. You're clearly good at math and reading so don't put as much study time into those topics (but do brush up on them). Focus on grammar the most and then A&P since you almost failed that the first time.

Thank you so much!! , How long did you study ? for the vocab, I seem to keep failing it because they put a a lot of random words that I did not see on the things I studied. Any suggestions on that ?

Thank you! Thats the exact same thing I got the second time, a 68 on grammer . Did you just re read the grammer rules over and over again ?

I just studied for a 2-3 days and I guess it wasnt enough. I used the actual study guide by elsevier. What else can I use ? For vocabulary any suggestions? I am so close to passing it yet I never do

I'd listen to everyone else who gave you advice. My school doesn't test vocabulary but I heard many people say that there are A LOT of resources on quizlet.

Honestly I studied vocab only for 3 days. Check quizlet there are more study guides for the vocab section of the Hesi. Also look at recent posts of people's experience of the Hesi, some put links for the vocab section that can be helpful. Look under the HESI Entrance / Exit Exam topic on this forum, there is a lot of helpful information there.

I found that a lot of the vocab words on my test were in the Mometrix HESI A2 study guide. There were not as many in the Elsevier book but I bought both of those and also purchased the Pocket Prep App as others have recommended. It's a little expensive but very worth it.

For the vocab, I would try to learn all you can through memorizing the words in the books, but also try to look for context clues in the sentences. Most of the questions have a hint somewhere else in the sentence and when I didn't know a word, I tried that and it helped. Also, most of the words were in some way related to the medical field and they use a lot of common latin origins, you could try looking at those too!

It's hard not to get frustrated, I'm sorry this happened! Try to set up a schedule for yourself to do a little bit each day. Unfortunately, this is really not a test that many can cram for, there is just too much information. I would suggest starting at least a month before the test. Take as many practice tests as you can and just try to go into the test as confident as you can. Best of luck on your next test!!!

Yes, I reread the rules and finally understood what I was looking for to make sure the sentence was grammatically correct, it started to FINALLY make sense to me. I got an 84 on it which was a big improvement from the 68 I received the first time. You can do it. Just reread and maybe try other resources the McGraw hill book really helped me as well.
