I am a foreign nurse from Ghana who got approved to take the nclex. During the process of cvs for the NY BON, I was studying. Once it got approved, I signed up for Hurst review due to a recommendation from a friend. I registered for the exams 2 months after the review. In January 2018 I took the exams but unfortunately didn't pass.. It was very hard for. Thanks to my mom who wanted me to focus on studying I am not working. About to take the exams again on Monday October 15. Have done uworld for the past couple of months. But I still dont feel ready for this exams and it scares the living daylight out me.. I cant help but cry about it. I can only pray and fully rely on God.

Any last minute suggestions will be gladly welcome.....

Thank you

Mina

From the other forums I read and YouTube videos I watch, and Also friends recommendation, uworld is great. Personally I think it is great too. Make sure you understand and absorb the rationale of all the questions you do. LA charity book on priorities and delegation is a good material too. Add it to the uworld if u can. Always keep the test strategies in your mind when answering the questions. It helps when you are stuck with a question you are not familiar with. I hope this helps. I think you will be ready come the exams day. All the best studying and I hope yours end better than mine did. Dont forget to pray, very important.

Hi Mina,

I passed on the 3rd time after using Uworld. Only thing that I remembered from Kaplan which I used on my 1st and 2nd try try was to eliminate choices. One thing to check is NCLEX will change the format of questions soon. Better check that on the website NCSBN. I passed after 75 Qs. For me Uworld was similar on how the nclex style of questioning. leadership/management and prioritization. I finished all 2100 in Uworld and I reviewed all my mistakes. Frankly speaking, my score was between 45-60%. 2 days prior to my test, I was still not confident but my brain is slowing down and getting too tired. Know your labs, the difference between the hypo and hypers cause this help me choose the right answers especially with the SATAs. I had a few meds questions too. Understand their action and precautions related to it like its toxicity levels. Understand the question asked and always read the answer choices. Look at the answer choices and ask yourself like "is this about hypothy or hyperthyroid" etc.
