I am starting my CNA training later this month, and I'm wondering what I need to get for class. As I am unemployed now and have an uncle who is a Dr.visiting this weekend, I was wondering what supplies I might need so I can ask him to bring some extras from his office, or closet, whatever the case may be. Thanks!!!!
P.S. I am sooooo excited
^ sorry I should be more specific. I know I am going to need some scrubs (anyone have a favorite kind?) but should I get my own stethoscope, BP cuff? Rubber soled shoes? I know I will probably need a watch?

Its probably different wherever you live. I had to have my schools nursing t-shirt and white scrub pants and white leather shoes. i also bought a watch with a second hand as well as the military time on it. it was optional to have the stethoscope and the blood pressure cuff. oh, we also had to have a little notebook and a pen to keep in your pocket to write stuff down on so you could chart it after. you also might want to buy a trial size hand lotion because you will be washing your hands constantly and maybe some hand sanitizer.

for the cna class itself we had to have a stethoscope, bp cuff, and a notebook. for our clinicals we had to have 2 sets of scrubs, a watch with a 2nd hand, white leather shoes, a notepad to keep in our pockets at all times for recording.

We got a stethoscope and bp cuff, gait belt, and text book with our class. We used them for practice in class, but not in clinical, and I don't use them at work either...
We were supposed to get scrubs (in certain colors), white shoes, and a watch for clinical. I never used the watch (although it comes in handy at work), and I hardly ever wear the scrubs I wore for class.
I wouldn't go wild buying a bunch of stuff that's not required. I know it's exciting when you first start class, but it's a waste. Wait until you get a job instead.

I agree with the above post. If you needed anything in particular for the class, you probably would have been told when you registered for the class. They may give you instructions on the first day of class. I didn't really need to purchase anything special for the class. The textbook fee was included in the tuition, and we got the book on the first day of class. The school provided the BP cuff and other equipment for us to practice with in class. I would suggest a notebook, folder, pens, pencils, & highlighter. Our school is pretty laid back on what we wear to clinicals, as long as it is clean and professional looking.
Also, my class was 8-4. If that is the case for you, I would bring lunch/snacks.

Good shoes and a cheap watch.
