Well, two days after my I-140 got approval, I got another email from USICS that my I-485 was approved by Jun 14, 2006, and my green card will be mail to me soon... However, since my grandpa's funneral is Next Saturday, do you guys think I can make it to my grandpa's funneral? What I should do next???

Thanks a lot

You need to get an I-131 issued. That will let you leave the country and return, if that is what you are trying to do.

Just contact your immigraiton attorney, they are the ones that handle that.

And, sorry for your loss.........:balloons:

Thank you, Suzanne...

Well, my lawyer didn't apply I-131 for me this time, cuz they wanted me to wait for the green card... Cuz after I get my green card, I can leave and return US without any problem. At this point, since they already issued me green card, I don't think it's necessary to file I-131...

However, I called the Law Office today, they said the greencard should be mailed to me soon, however, if I want to leave for my home town now, I need to have my passport stamped in order to be returned to the US without any problem... so they asked me to go online and schedule for infopass and get my passport stamped... sighs... there is no appointment available until June 27th... sighs...:(

If you leave the country, and do not have the green card in hand, and do not have the I-131, then you will have issues returning to the US. Doesn't matter that it is in the mail, you need to physically have it. They will not let you board the plane when you want to return without it. They need to have physical proof.

Or if you want to chance it, and then have someone express mail it to you, but I would not chance it. Just because it has been issued, doe not mean that it will be there the next day.
