I am apprehensive about my NCLEX on March 28!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Any good advice? Gonna take my NCLEX on 3/28/14 and I feel nervous and apprehensive.. I finished the Kaplan 2011-2012 reviewer and currently halfway through the Saunders 6th Ed book.. I feel like Im not progressing very well because I only get around 60% above on practice questions using Saunders.. I have only a month now to study before the exam.. Does anybody have any idea roughly how much percentage should I aim the least to max the chances of passing the exam? Your help will be greatly appreciated!

of course you are apprehensive. However, you would not have made it out of nursing school if you did not pass those tests so you must have knowledge about content. My suggestion is to NOT study the day before, go to bed on time, eat a protein breakfast the day of the test and go in with a positive attitude. Remember, statistics show that MOST people pass the first time. Good luck!

It's really easy for people to say "don't sweat it" when they have already taken it and passed it. I'm sure everyone that has taken the NCLEX has had some sort of anxiety about it. I totally understand your anxiety, Maryjoii...I was where you are not even 2 months ago. This is a very important test! If it wasn't people wouldn't worry about it like they do.

I just took the NCLEX on January 31st 2014. I literally couldn't sleep a wink the night before. I cried all the way until I got into the parking lot of the testing center (which is a big deal for me, because I'm not a crier!) I was so worried because I had did the Kaplan Review and my scores weren't what I thought they should be. My "Readiness Test" score was only a 60% (which apparently calculates to a 89% chance of passing the NCLEX), my highest Q trainer score was a 59%, my Q bank score was a 53% out of 40% of the questions used.

I would come to allnurses.com for some encouragement and read old posts of what others had to say about their scores and would find that to be very helpful. But I have say, they were right about not worrying so much about your scores...If you know you've studied and done all you can do to prepare for the NCLEX, be proud of yourself regardless!

Thanks Sabrina!

Its just so relieving that there's actually somebody who passed the exam even with 60% in qbanks.. I can relate very much, because I noticed that my results are also at the 60% range... I felt like I wouldn't be able to make it.. But thanks for sharing your experience, I have a new hope that I can still get through..

We can do this Liza :) God is with us.

Hey ladies I test 3/18 and am freaking out I also have 60% overall with 100% qbank completed with a readiness of 67% but am so nervous to take this test!!!!! I will be praying for you guys......I hope nclex questions are easier than Kaplan bc I thought Kaplan was pretty tough

Hi CandiceRN87!

I prefer answering questions in my last minute but you can still browse those topics if you have to. I am doing PDA now and I feel bad because some of my scores are poor, it's making me more nervous! OMG I cant wait to get over with this! We can do this! :)

I took my test this morning after doing over 2000 review questions from Saunders 6th edition. It felt like none of it was on the test. My advice from here on out will be to learn the test taking strategies, lab values and just medication classifications. You have already learned the content, now it is about picking the question apart and choosing the most correct answer :). Best of luck to you!!!!!
