So, what happens next? Any advice? What should I brush up on? What books should I read now, while waiting for the program to begin? Uniforms/equipment requirements? Medical/insurance requirement? Which hospitals/facility offer clinicials? Anything you know now, that you wish you knew before you started the program? I realize that there will be an orientation, but any advice from the student's perspective would be invaluable. Thank you in advance for your time.
Great!!!! Start with the lecture and lab book and read those first! Ask a current student on here if they can tell you the chapters to read first because they don't always go in order! Too bad you don't know what teacher's you will have...That would be a big help. LOL Anyway, you will be so far ahead of your classmates if you keep up this momentum )...Good luck and feel free to ask me any questions. I don't get on here as much as I should, but it will come to my phone if you send me a private message or reply to this thread. If you are wondering why I am so helpful, well I want to be a nurse educator in the future and I love to teach and inspire others. It's my nature I guess

Test Success: Test-Taking Techniques for Beginning Nursin...
Kozier & Erb's Fundamentals of Nursing (9th Edition) [Hardcover]
I am in my second semester at WCCCD and it is a tough, but very good program! They started removing the instructors names from the lottery lists so students wouldn't pick according to which one they liked. I definitely recommend a med terminology course, but you won't have time for that in your first semester. Your first 7 weeks may be the most exhausting and frustrating you've ever had, depending on your instructor, but get a good study group together, people that you know will keep you motivated, and you will be alright. And, as a good incentive, I have heard that ---- makes remediation the worst hell you can imagine, so keep up on all your reading and be prepared!! Good luck
I am studying prior to the start of classes, because I want to continue onto my Masters, and although, I am familiar with the "C your way through it" mentality, for me...that won't get me a scholarship. And besides, I love this field, so studying is not a chore. My hope is, some of my future classmates will read my posts and take heed. Because I would really like to work with some equally motivated study partners.
Thank you MInursingstudent and good luck to you too!
