Holy moly! I got accepted into OHSU's first AG-ACNP program!!!!!!! Ahhh!!! (Excuse my freaking out- I did not expect to get admitted!!). Now what do I do?! The program starts in 3 weeks!! I live 1,050 miles away...married with 3 kids and a full time job. How do we move in 3 weeks?!?

Thank you! Yeah- I barely took my GRE this past Thursday (and emailed them unofficial scores)...same day as my interview.

We've looked at Beaverton...do you know of specific areas/streets to avoid there? Or is all of Beaverton pretty nice/safe to live? We'll probably find an apartment to rent for a couple months until we can really get a feel for the area and where we want to be. We've never even visited the NW before....but have always talked/joked about living there!

I need to find a per diem job up there to help make ends meet! I've only been an ICU nurse for 11 months...so not sure if they'll even consider me anywhere for an ICU position. But that's where I'd like to end up!

Beaverton is pretty safe I think. My own personal concern is public transportation during the winter. It may not snow a whole lot during the winter, but will definitely rain a lot.

I don't know what the prospect is for per diem positions. I might do per diem for med/surg myself, but shall see.

The good thing about Oregon is no sales tax. So you will save some money.

I've never been on public transportation before... So I have a lot to learn!! I'm glad to hear it doesn't snow very much...I'll take rain over snow any day! I was reading on another post about how parking/driving around the school is impossible. Guess I'll have to quickly learn to make the bus my best friend! :)

Oh and the tax...you have a higher income tax than we do here...so I don't think we'll save much.
